Needs repairs every few months

Our ice maker stops working every few months. We’ve had this refrigerator for about 3 years and we’ve had the technician in many times! The ice maker malfunctions about every 6 months. The refrigerator stopped cooling and freezing completely last winter. It takes weeks to get parts. I would never buy another LG appliance again.

No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Happy but have had a few issues

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I love this fridge, it has all the features I want but we have had a few issues in the last 5 years. Just before the 5 year mark, the compressor died and we lost a lot of food. Thankfully we do have a second fridge in the basement so we saved some things. LG customer service was good though, they had someone out to fix it quickly. For about 6 months prior we had also been having an issue with the ice melting and leaking all over. It would then refreeze around the ice bucket and in the bottom of the bucket as one large block making it very difficult to get out and dump. We thought the compressor must have been going for a while and that is what was causing it but even after the compressor was replaced it happened. Again, LG customer service was good and had some one out to look at it. He defrosted everything and said that this happens on this model when the ice is really full and the water will sometimes leak because there is no place for it to go. Seems weird that with all the intelligence built into the fridge now that it can’t tell when it needs to create more ice and when it doesn’t, but alas we turn off the ice maker some times now when it is full and have avoided the problem so far. We will see how it goes but anticipate that to be an ongoing issue we will have to deal with. Over all I am happy with the fridge and would buy it again.

Good for 4 years then fixed under warranty

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Everything was great for 4 years and then the compressor went out. Luckily this was under warranty still so got it fix at no charge. Other than that worked great and has been working great since the repair.

cooling issues

Great refrigerator

It has been great because when the compressor was down, they upgraded the compressor for free. It works even better now and runs so quietly. It has lots of capacity, and wonderful organizational design, and much more, I am very satisfied with this refrigerator.
