Like the look but the doors are badly designed

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We bought this model because of the "4 doors" feature, and while the look is good and the fridge is working well so far in that it runs, keeps things at the right set point temp and the ice maker has not stopped working yet (these are all good things) we really hate one thing - the right side door, when you open both doors together the inner clear plastic cover "unlocks" all by it self and swings wildly around, usually hitting you in the face if you are not careful. So you have to snap it shut, like all the time, every time, this is a design flaw in my opinion the LG engineers should have seen this flaw. because of this flaw - and it is not a broken door, nothing is 'broken", it just pops open all by itself whenever you open the door, I have to give this unit low marks - it is disappointing.
Pros: Style/Design
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Mediocre cooling

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Whenever the temperature in the house gets over 85 degrees F, the icemaker stops working, the refrigerator goes to about 50 degrees F, the freezer warms up-making ice cream soft and mushy.

While this does fall withing the ambient temperature range in the owner's manual, we'll need to ensure that the unit has adequate clearance for venting, as well. It will need at least 2" at the back and top for proper circulation. We also recommend at lease 1/4" on either side. Compressor went out the 1st year

Haven't even had this a year and the compressor goes out. Read the reviews. Seems to be a common problem with this fridge, but until I can find my receipt they won't fix it, even though there's supposedly a 10 year warranty on the compressor. Beautiful piece of junk!

2 Years, 8 Months, and 3 Days
on April 4, 2019

We purchased this refrigerator from Lowe's on the day we moved into our new house. We were not expecting to buy a fridge that day, but we needed one and still had the moving truck available. Pretty large, so getting it through the door was tricky. Water line attached--removed plastic coverings--plugged in the machine. This was 30 July, 2016.
Fast forward to 2 April, 2019 and the fridge and freezer are not cooling. Three days later, it is sitting empty, unplugged, and unusable. Being fairly handy with basic appliance repair, I check the condensor coils, evap coils, and all fans. Check the evap fans inside the freezer with a multimeter to ensure proper voltage and check the impedance through the fans to make sure the motors aren't inop. All checks out good. Notice the evap coils in the freezer aren't getting cold and the compressor is really really hot to the touch. Now I'm staring down the barrel of a sealed system failure and have to decide between a massive repair bill or just buying an entirely new unit. This is unacceptable at 2.5 years. Digging through various retailer forums, it seems this is not an isolated case of a single faulty unit. Not sure what recourse I have now, but no icebox for food storage means spending increase on trying to feed my family of four by eating out every day...

$3000 for a 2 year refrigerator?

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] our LG is a very nice looking and roomy refrigerator. lots of people that come into our home comment on how nice the refrigerator is and how big it is. that being said after owning it only 2 years the compressor went bad. LG immediately sent someone out to repair it so their customer service is great. but apparently this is a common problem as the technician told us that they have been having lots of problems with LG refrigerator compressors and that it will be 2 weeks before they can get their hands on one because of the backorder.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have had the refrigerator for 3yr and it is not cooling. I purchased the extend 2 warranty from Home Depot which realistically only extended it one years past the manufacturers one year warranty so I am out of luck and out of pocket for the repairs. I would recommend getting a 5-year warranty at minimum this refrigerator seems to be temperamental
