Beautiful Cooktop

Just purchased this cooktop after much research and reading of online reviews. Only had it for a few days, but am extremely satisfied with the unit. Cleans up easily since there are no knobs. Love the lock feature as well as the timer. This replaced our old glass cooktop, and this one is so much better.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Sloppy coverage of black coating on underside of cook top surface. How does an error like this leave the factory floor? Quality control issues at GE?

Love the touch buttons! Cleaning is easy and it blends right in with the granite countertops.
On my old GE cooktop( at me other house) is still working perfectly after about 20 years. I do have to remove the controls to clean underneath occasionally but the new one has no visible controls!!!! The power Boil feature is a wonderful feature but watch it, hears fast and hot. I have used GE Profile for many years and have not been disappointed.

Completely smooth cooktop

I love that this cooktop is completely smooth - no knobs to wash or get burned from a hot pan, I can move my pans anywhere I want. I love the 3 second lockout because the touch controls are very sensitive. We make a point of locking the controls as soon as we finish cooking. You will want a good light because they are hard to see.

Good replacement

I have been using my new cooktop for a couple of months since my old glass cooktop glass broke. I like the quick boil feature (it really does boil more quickly) and I didn't burn the butter on the melt feature. What is driving me crazy is that I can't see the flat digital controls. I love that they are flat, but they need to be white on the black surface, not silver that is nearly impossible to see. My old cooktop had the controls along the side and were easier to see. This one has the controls in the middle where I keep touching them or putting things down on them. I'm glad to have a cooktop with the boil and melt features and without a big crack in it, but I miss my old easy to see one.

The cooktop looks beautiful on my black granite island top. Heats very quickly and it's easy to maintain the proper temperatures for boiling, frying, sauteing and warming. Easy to clean with recommended cooktop cleaner.

Good stove with a few minor issues

Minor issues:
Finger prints/smears make the control panel hard to read.
Control panel is does not recognize a finger push if your fingers are wet.
Moving something like a cookie sheet over the control panel turns on elements BUT if no further entry is made they never come on, just appear to be activated.
Melting level of heat is not hot enough to melt anything except maybe butter. And then it would take awhile.
