Believe GE has an excellent cook tops

This is the second cooktop we purchased that was a GE cooktop. We were upgrading our counter top and our first cooktop was damaged by the installer. We were able to find a replacement GE cooktop that had all the same features as the damaged one. We are very pleased with the new cooktop.

Element control switch failed

My GE cooktop is very nice but one of the element control switches was not working correctly from the start. We called customer service and an appointment was set up and the switch was replaced. Now we can fully enjoy the cooktop.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Works OK but hard to use

The function of the cooktop is fine. Heat adjustments are pretty accurate. HOWEVER, and this made my review one star less than I would have given, there is one SIGNIFICANT design flaw. The numbers around the dials are practically illegible on the black cooktop. And this with the hood light turned on. This is a flaw that cannot be fixed and I am very disappointed that the cooktop thus is difficult to use.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Fast heating up cooktop - high maintenance

I have always had GE Profile, this apartment in a Senior residence offered the GE Profile series but the is no gas connections. I selected the cooktop snd a microwave/convection in place of a standard range.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Can’t read the temp controls

This cook too is poorly designed. Can’t read the temp controls they are tiny and dark on the dark cooktop surface. Also the stainless steel border scratched the first week you have to be extra careful not the pull pans across it only had it a few weeks and looks old Wish the controls lite up or where larger and a light color

Please know that we find these comments very valuable, and we will pass them on to the appropriate teams for future design consideration.
To treat the scratches on the stainless steel border, we recommend using cleaners that contain Oxalic Acid, such as Bar Keepers Friend Soft Cleanser, to remove rust, tarnish, and small blemishes on stainless steel. Use only the liquid cleanser (free of grit) and be sure rub in the direction of the metal grain lines with a damp soft sponge. This cleaning method can help with reducing the appearance of the scratches. We also recommend making sure that you use the appropriate cookware on your cooktop to guarantee that the glass surface doesn't become damaged.
