This cook top works great! But, every time I use it, I have to scrub it clean. I’m afraid it will look very dirty in one year!

So far it works great the only down side is how to keep it clean. I have used a number of products however either it doesn't come off or it streaks.

Love the Power Boil Feature

I purchased this particular cooktop because it was the only one in stock within a 5 hour drive of my house. I had to have one ASAP because we were installing a new micro hood and dropped it shattering my old cooktop. I was skeptical because of the low price and it didn’t have some of the special features my other one had. I have only had it a week but I am impressed with the Power Boil feature! I can’t wait to try out the Keep Warm and Melt features this one has- I plan on trying them out soon making Christmas candy. I would definitely recommend this cooktop to others; economical and cooks great!

Back Power Boil burner does not work properly

I bought this smooth cooktop exactly 2 years ago. It has been working well until recently. The back left power boil burner stays on high heat regardless of how low the control knob is set. Even when the burner is first turned on to the lowest setting, the burner immediately goes to power boil mode. How can we fix this?

Since this cooktop has rapid response surface units, the cooktop will automatically heat up or cool down to the desired power level setting in the quickest time possible. When a burner is turned on, you get radiant heat (like putting your hand in front of a 150 watt light bulb) within 4 to 5 seconds (quick start). All GE Appliances radiant elements are quick start. You will see a bright red glow in about 10-12 seconds. It will cycle on & off particularly on the lower settings (the cycling occurs to maintain the selected setting) and this is normal.
