This cooktop replaced the previous GE cooktop that was original to the home. The solid black surface shows everything from dust to water marks. If you want this to look good a daily cleaning is a must. The new handles feel very cheaply made.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Glass top scratches too easy

I read previous reviews that said the glass top scratches easy. I had a different brand with a glass top and it never scratched so I assumed I'd be okay. That was not the case. Using all the same pots and pans I've always used, I have more scratches on the glass top in a few months than the 15 year old unit it replaced... also, it was disappointing to discover that the chrome plated knobs are cheap plastic.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Basic, cheap, hard to clean

We bought this unit to replace a cooktop that failed on Christmas Eve. It was half the price of the other units but we plan to redo the kitchen so we settled for it. It works fine and the Power Boil function is amazing, but the surface stains easily and is darn near impossible to clean. The buttons are not refined, and we have cut ourselves several times wiping between them. This is fine for now, but I'd recommend spending more for a better unit for long term use.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
