Easy and Quick Installation

I bought this cooktop as it was a perfect fit for my counter top opening. The size was exactly as stated in the specifications and it fit perfectly. Quick and easy installation.

Cooktop has two 'Power boil' rings that really gets large pans of water to the boil quickly, such as those needed for spaghetti. Also in the two smaller rings: One has a "keep warm" feature which keeps pans warm without drying out the food and the other has a "melt" feature used to control the melting of say a block of chocolate without burning. The cooktop is a perfect match for my black GE microwave oven.

I had this same top 2.5 years ago. A heavy can fell on it from a cabinet above it and broke the glass, so I had to get a new one. I ordered and received the almost exact same top. What I didn't like was how much more this one cost me, and the much cheaper knobs that are on it. I removed those and replaced them with the more expensive looking knobs from my previous cooktop. And luckily this time my husband could install it for me, so I did save $$$ there. It cooks fine except that not all burners heat up at the same pace. That's a bit annoying. But it IS beautiful.

Cheaper cookbook not built to last

Looks OK but clearly not as high quality as our previous GE solid disk element cook top that they no longer manufacture.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Nicer than I expected

I ordered this on-line without actually seeing it. It is much nicer than I expected from the pictures. I installed it myself, and I am NOT a handy person. Granted, the hole was already cut and the electricity already there, but it went much smoother than I could have imagined.

Although I have only owned this cooktop for a few months, I can say it works as advertised.
Somewhat difficult to keep clean, but that's to be said about many, if not all.
I would say the power boil burners for my install (work area on left of top) makes for awkward movements.
