The washer makes too much noise. The rinse cycle isn't long enough. An area in the dryer door catches small items and they need to be forcibly removed. Don't tell me engineers can't design and make better products than this. We returned the first one we bought because of these problems and the second one is no better.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I've had this stacked washer/dryer for 2 months now. I'm very happy with it, so far. The washer capacity is great and I can fit a full load into it. It is a little loud when switching from different cycles, especially when it goes to "rinse" but I'm getting used to it and the machine operates fine, so I guess the noise is normal and not indicative of a problem. Dryer works great, also.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Just had this unit installed today and after dealing with a dryer stacked on top of a washer, we are thrilled with the ease of use and no more worrying about how to access for repairs.

Design flaw with dryer

The dryer has gaps that snag onto buttons, clothing corners, etc....it has ruined many clothing items over the past 4 months. No way to repair it.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Expensive!

After having the stackable washer and dryer purchased in February, it was constantly getting stuck in the spin cycle. After a GE technician came out, and indicated the problem was that there was a cloth stuck between the actual washer and outside the front. Just lessons learned.

Bought a month ago. When washed sheets they became very twisted in washer and difficult to remove. Also the washer is pretty noisy during agitation. User guide notes there will be a noise but it is louder than expected. Otherwise I am happy with the purchase.
