Bought for condo ... size was the main reason. it fit the space that was required ... I would ONLY recommend IF space was the overriding reason

5 star if not for verry loud groaning noises

I have been washing 2-3 loads for two weeks and I love what it does and all the choices...everything is top notch except the noises. I live in 1200 sq foot house and even with TV on loud at opposite end of house it groans and moans and goes BOMP BOMP so loud it really sounds possessed. These noises are more prevalent when the auto sensor for water level is turned on. Also I notice the water levels for small and medium loads are very low compared to how I like it. So I just choose large and extra large. I do not miss my full size washer dryer at all. I did not get a stackable full size with front load because they always leave water in the bottom which causes odors. This top loading GE max capacity is the way to go for small space or convenience. I had the small one before and it was way too little. Could not wash blankets but no problem with this model. highly recommend even with the annoying loud noises

This is the 3rd unit that we have had. 1st unit had bad circuit board-- replaced in 4 mos. under warranty. 2nd. unit was ok for 4+ yrs then tub bearing started to go bad/very noisy -would have to replace entire wash tub-very expensive. Out of warranty- GE replaced with new machine at reasonable price. We will try one more time as we like the machine and it fits our space constraint. Customer service has been very easy to deal with.

I bought this unit to replace a Kenmore. It works great, but can be a bit noisy at times.

I have had this less than a month. It didn't work straight out of the box, so I had to call tech support to "reset" the motor. Now about two weeks later, same problem. The "reset" procedure has to be done MULITPLE times, and the only way to see if it has worked is to start a cycle and wait the 15-20 minutes to see if it will go. So far I have been unable to reset it this time and will probably need to call tech support or have service. Meanwhile I have a washer full of wet clothes. It is a BRAND NEW machine, and this is not cool at all.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
