Mixed Blessing!!

I waited a long time to buy this machine, so my hopes were high. My clothes appear to be clean, however I have not yet washed any badly soiled items. Even with a small load, the water does not even come half way up the clothes, so it is necessary to use the "Power Clean" setting--this takes almost an hour, so use of energy is too high. The dryer works very well. There are a couple of design flaws--the lint trap is EXTREMELY frustrating. The model in the showroom had the lint trap at the front of the drum. This one has the trap in the door, and it has a cover which needs to be slid off to remove the trap--you really need an extra hand because the pressure needed to remove the cover pushes the door backwards. Anything set on the washer top, or above the dryer will, without care, slide off, because the front edges slope downwards. The product LOOKS pretty, however it appears to have been designed by someone who does not do laundry!!
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I had this unit delivered 2-weeks ago and I have already needed to have it repaired twice because the dryer door opens during the dry cycle.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

This is the third (3!) unit I have enjoyed like this in my 41 years in this house! It is a wonderful space saving appliance that works perfectly for me. Cleans well, looks good and is exactly what I need - always ordered site unseen! GE = good job!
