We felt the general electric name in itself was a reason to buy this unit after using the unit we were very impressed with his various cycles the quick drying process and the quietness of the unit

Dryer Doesn't Finish Cycle

Dryer worked for a while. Now it turns off without finishing the cycle. Lint trip is clean. Terrible dryer

Avoid GE. Poor quality parts.

Lasted less than 4 years before the tub seal started leaking after the previous GE combo crapped out that came with the house (11 years old at the time of death). Terrible quality at an outlandish price but it was the only stack combo that would fit in the space we had for laundry on the first floor. This was so annoying and now GE can't be trusted to deliver, I will be spending the next few days setting up plumbing to have separate units in the basement. It will be worth it to not have to deal with GE crapping out every 1100 days.

because it only puts a few inches of water in the tub at a time, it wastes tons of energy because you have to run 3 loads to get more than one towel at a time.

Hello- We can understand your frustration and would like to help! The Auto Load Sensing feature on this model will determine the correct fill by the load weight. When in the sensing mode, the water levels will vary according to the load size and garment type. The agitator will drive the clothes down into the water for thorough cleaning. The maximum water level (Plastic tub) could be from the 2nd to 4th rows of holes counting from the top to the bottom of the basket. Please review page 11 in the Owner's Manual:
In order to get the most water in your washer, we recommend selecting the Bulky cycle and see if that helps.

irritating noise maker

This washer/dryer combo works great, but the noise the washer makes is VERY IRRITATING. Come summertime, I'll make sure I'm on my porch so I don't have to listen to it.
