I bought this to replace an older unit that had outlived it's expectations. This one is a bit smaller, but seems to hold the same size loads, is quieter and has more features. For the price and size, this is a good value.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Compact & Effective

It's like a miniature laundry center! However, don't let the size fool you: it can handle a good regular sized load. It works just fine and is worth the price. It's not noisy, it doesn't take forever to wash or dry, it's super simple to move and install. Good job, GE.

It's only been a little more than a month, about 20 loads. To date *almost* all I hoped to get. My only note are the bizarre noises during parts of the wash process; not too annoying and documented in the owner manual, so not to worry!

I thoroughly enjoy the size for my condo. It holds plenty of clothes for 2 people and everything comes out very clean and dry. my only complaint is it is VERY loud during the end of the wash cycle. Any wash cycle. I don't know if this is typial or if I have to check out my machine.

Great at saving water, bad a washing clothes

We have this unit installed in our apartment, and it is quieter than the previous model and modern.
Unfortunately, it's high-efficiency (HE) approach to saving water has a drawback - it makes it useless as a washing machine.
Living in California, and growing up in Australia, I'm very conscious of issues of drought and water conversation. But here's the thing: a washing machine has one job. Wash clothes. If I have to run the cycle a second time to make up for it doing that job wrong, I'm wasting more water (not to mention power and attendant CO2) than if I'd been able to set the water level properly like the previous model did.
This is just insanity. While my clothes aren't getting clean (or I'm having to mess around with manually adding water or putting in heavy things like towels *which I don't even need to wash* to trick this stupid thing into adding enough water), I look out the window and see green sporting fields, golf courses and hear the sprinkers go on to water the garden in our complex.
Please please please let us fix this otherwise fine machine so it actually does the one job it is supposed to do - wash clothes.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I have a cozy one bedroom apartment and this machine is a great fit! It sits neatly in my kitchen, taking up hardly any space and making switcing loads while washing dishes so easy! It's compactness does not compromise the quality of the wash !
