Amazing Quality

Black Hawk Down is one of the best war movies I have ever had the pleasure of watching. This forgotten, or less known, story of the American raid of Somalia in 1993 is finally brought to light in this movie. There is a bunch of action (maybe too much for those who aren't big fans of war movies), a good storyline, and good actors to go along with it. I own this movie on bluray and the quality and sound are fantastic - and so are the extra features. If you love war movies, you are sure to love this one.

What's great about it: Great war movie, awesome effects

What's not so great: Too much action, sometimes you can get bored of it

I would recommend this to a friend!

UHD defective, audio dropouts in at least 3 places

I once owned this in another format, and was looking forward to a massive upgrade. The visual quality on this UHD was quite high. Detail was stunning in spots. Colors were exceptional. The visuals alone speak to the promise of the UHD format on deep catalogue releases. There was a question of black crush in spots; optimal viewing might require bumping brightness 3-5 notches. Assuming of course that your copy works. Mine had multiple audio dropouts. The last resulted in no sound from that point onward. Known working setup, all other UHDs play in optimal fashion. I was expected a battle on the return. But the manager cited that a recall was in progress anyway, so I got my funds back. If ordering from NYC Best Buys, be careful. Perhaps overseas copies fare better.
