Lousy Refrigerator

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have had this refrigerator for 2 months. It is the noisiest refrigerator I have ever owned. I have had several refrigerators since 1972 when I purchased my first one and this is the worst. You cannot even watch TV when it is running. The water from the water dispenser is never cold and it comes out so slow that it takes for ever to get a glass of water.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We are now into our eighth month with our new LG Refrigerator. Not exactly a great time period but worth the review.
After an extensive review of many different manufacturers refrigerators I was convinced that the LG would be the best for our requirements. Our previous refrigerator was a side by side with water and ice distribution on the door. It lasted 18 years. I have been told by various sales people that I should not expect anything near that again. My wife decided that she wanted a "French door with bottom freezer" After reading many reviews I realized that the french door refrigerators all seemed to have problems with the ice maker in the door. Being an engineer this seemed very real to me since the door with the ice maker was part of the refrigerator section and not the freezer. I then decided to look for a refrigerator that had ice and water on the door with a separate second ice maker in the bottom freezer. We mostly used the filtered water on the door and not the ice distributer that often. I found that LG had exactly what I was looking for with a separate turn off switch for the ice maker in the door. After receiving delivery of the refrigerator I immediately turned off the Ice maker in the door and use only the bottom freezer for ice. The bottom freezer makes more ice than we need for just about any occasion,[my wife is from a family of ten siblings and we have very large family gatherings] and we have never had a shortage of ice. We also feel the freezer ice is a better quality than what we had before since it is always loose and never frozen together. The refrigerator and freezer has a very accessible layout for all our needs and is very large capacity giving plenty of room for large storage. So far I highly recommend this refrigerator for anyone looking for large capacity with water distribution in the door and ice making capabilities.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Bought this as it was the only one that was narrow enough to fit in the space we had for a refridgerator and wanted a French door with bottom drawer freezor. At first we weren't sure we were happy with the choice as it was so different and trying to get used to where everything was. We has tons more room in the fridge and freezer and it seemed empty at first. Still have plenty of room in the fridge, but we were able to bring in all the food we had in the old fridge we had out in the garage where I also had food in the freezer. We have adapted to this one now and just love it. Also very happy with the ice and water dispenser in the door!!!

Do not buy any french door products

Be warned, do not buy any of LG's french door refrigerators. The ice make is useless. We have had a french door model for 2 years now and the ice maker is worthless. It will not keep my wife and I in ice on the weekends. The ice maker died 1 week after it was delivered and had to be replaced. We have spent hours of the phone with LG complaining about it and trying to get help. It was just serviced again. The ice maker hangs, dumps water, freezes up and just basically does not work. All of their french door units have the same ice maker in them. It is kind of a joke that they supply about a 1 cubic foot bucket in the freezer that you are supposed to put extra ice in when it won't keep the bucket in the door full. If I have to take the bucket out of the door to store ice in the freezer, which the big extra bucket take up room in the freezer, I might as well just use ice trays. Do not buy french door units!

Horrible refrigerator

I am so disappointed with this refrigerator. We have had it less than 6 months and already the freezer has stopped working twice leaving all our frozen foods, including hundreds of dollars in meats and frozen items to thaw and perish. Very disappointed also with the customer service. There is not an available person to come look at the appliance for a week. Meanwhile leaving us with no freezer. Very disappointed and urge people not to buy this refridgerator.

Poorly thought out design

The water fill pad/button is so poorly designed the almost everyone who gets water get it on there hand/arm.
The pad is arced the wrong way so your glass want to slip off instead of holding it there.
The storage is also a joke.
You have a massive drawer at the bottom of the fridge that can't hold squat.
There's no place for eggs.
You can't open the 2 drawers without opening both doors, seriously!!!
It also makes a ton of groaning noises.
Did anyone try this before it went into production.
I sure hope the quality is better than so called feachers.
