Bad compressors

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We bought this refrigerator August 2016. The compressor failed August of 2018 while we had overnight guests and food that spoiled. The compressor was replaced. We had the 3 year extended protection plan through Lowe’s. Now May of 2019, Memorial Day, the refrigerator has stopped again, The repairman was here for 10 minutes to tell us he doesn’t carry the parts. Our extended plan is expired in August of this year. I don’t feel we can trust this refrigerator. Do we dare not leave our home for vacation, or dare to plan for a holiday or have guests that require refrigerated food. Why should we have to pay for extended plans because this refrigerator fails frequently? (As noted in other reviews). This is our second LG appliance that has failed. We had to replace a new washing machine within months as it destroyed our clothing. ( it tore holes in fabric) and would only fill to 4 inches of water. My advice... do your research, buy American trusted brands

2.5 years in and it stops cooling

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The positive reviews must be from people who have not had it for very long. It was fine for 2.5 years, until it randomly stopped cooling and stopped making ice since it is no longer cold enough to do this. Finding someone to repair this has a been a nightmare. No one works on LG appliances. Also, I'm angry that after spending so much money on this, we already have an expensive repair. Find another brand. I was misled thinking that since my LG tvs work well, that a fridge would too, but not the case.

Annoyingly Frequent Compressor Noise

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Around 90% of the time the compressor is on and making an annoying humming noise. In the rare moments, it is quiet and off. I called LG to fix it, they replaced the compressor and it is still making the noise. They eventually said that this is a normal operating noise. Its the most annoying noise ever. Cheaper refrigerators don't even have this type of noise. I would not recommend this fridge.

I he ice making stopped working within 3weeks of purchase and then the entire thing stopped cooling at year 3. DO NOT BUY!

It’s been less than a year and the ice maker stopped working. I had to have the ice maker replaced. The digital screen also does not work. To set freezer temperature it skips over degrees now. I was told they need to replace the front screen as well. Waiting for that to happen. This shouldn’t happen within a year of purchasing such an expensive refrigerator!

So Disappointed

I bought this fridge to go in my home August 2016.... 3 years to the week of compressor goes out.... Here I am today less than 60 days later.... compressor is gone out AGAIN!!! Over $300 worth of food ruined and nothing that I can fo about it besides take off work AGAIN for the compressor to be replaced AGAIN... I don't understand because it's a basic fridge, no bells, no whistles...NOTHING! I will NEVER purchase another LG product again in life.
