Bad Compressor

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The refrigerator had issues from about a year out. Had to have a board replaced and wasn't covered under warrant. Now 5 years out the compressor goes out. Would not recommend.
Pros: easy to use

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Other than requiring a few repairs, overall, we love our fridge. It is spacious and fairly reliable. The water dispenser and the ice maker have not failed. We're very happy with it!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We bought this refrigerator a little over 5 years ago and have been very pleased with it. Shortly after it went out of warranty, the compressor quit. LG repaired the problem at no cost to us. It took a couple weeks to get a qualified technician to repair it and they gave us some cash for the inconvenience. We used that to purchase a four cubic foot refrigerator for use while waiting for the repair. It's obvious to us that LG cares about their consumers and takes care of them. We are very pleased!

This fridge is basically a newer version of our last. Love the "door in door" and the "craft ice" features! Seems to be a solid build with efforts to provide a high end unit.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have LG tv and washer/dryer for years and never had a problem. That’s why I went with LG for my refrigerator in my new home. Not sure if it’s just this model. I started having issues I think after a year. Lost a lot of food due to the freezing and cooling. Just recently replace my compressor second time. I hope I don’t have any other issues in the future.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I am usually a BIG fan of LG products; however, this refrigerator did not meet the LG standards I am accustomed to. It has been a slow decline of not keeping food cold or frozen. Finally called service and the tech said the compressor was damaged. Seems to be working better now; however, not the standard for a fridge that is only a few years old. Guess that's why it's been discontinued and there is a class action suit against LG for failure to meet satisfaction with keeping food cold.

It was my first appliance purchase where I placed features and capacity as my main goal. I spent more money than I would normally have (I'm usually more frugal) to get the French door fridge of my dreams.
It took about one year before all the problems started. I've had non-cooling issues with it several times. With endless rounds of repairs and service. I've had weeks without a fridge and with so many of these units having issues, I struggled to get quick responses for help. As a parent, its very difficult to go without a fridge for weeks at a time. All in all, I wish I had never purchased this fridge. While it has great capacity, shelves and appearance, it wasn't worth the trouble.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I brought this six years ago and had to call the technician twice to repair it, because the bottom wasn't freezing the first time. And the second time the inside of the fridge wasn't cooling and it was not making ice.
