The Worst

Had this refrigerator 4 years and within the 4yrs we have had the compressor replaced twice and now the refrigerator is not cooling again and the ice maker is not working. I cannot even think about purchasing another LG appliance. LG knew they had issues with their compressors and should have replaced all these refrigerators to make good on their product but that never happened. Not even going to discuss how much $ we lost in food. At this point we will be purchasing another brand refrigerator. Think twice when you think about LG. They do not back their product. What a complete waste of money!

Bad compressor

After 5 years our compressor died. When the refrigerator worked it was great. I could not get someone to repair it and was forced to purchase a new refrigerator, another make. I am disappointed, especially when My research showed that LG knows that the compressors go bad.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Fridge works as expected. Seems to be efficient and looks great! However the compressor went out in less than 5 years. It’s a known issue. The warranty was nice. Hopeful the replacement compressor lasts longer!
Within a year of purchase, it started making noise. A fan was rubbing on something. Fortunately it was still under warranty. LG said that that freezer panel wasn't insulated enough, so they would have to replace the panel with one that had more insulation. After several months, they eventually fixed it. Fine. Question though. Why sell me a product with a known problem? Pretty big hassle and it was faulty when it was shipped! More problems in a bit. The fridge and freezer are BIG, well lit and easy to access. I love the lay out and the size. Lighting is bright. Exterior looks nice, but is very easy to dent. Back to problems... Condensation builds up on the bar between the French doors and drips onto the top of the freezer door and eventually to the floor. I wipe it down everyday in the summer and mildew still builds up on the gaskets. Ice maker and water dispenser (in the door) spills water from the ice tray, leaks down the chamber and freezes. Ice builds up and some of it melts, which adds to the condensation problem. I can't leave the ice maker on for extended periods because of this. Take away the problems and this is a fantastic refrigerator. With them, I have suggest another brand.

Since I bought this refrigerator, I have had to call for repairs 4 times. Three times during the first year and once again this year. This time they replaced everything in the unit. Now its working better than it ever has. Dont know if I got a lemon or what but now it works great

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] To have our 5 year refrigerator quit working suddenly was very disappointing! After replacement parts were installed it worked without problems for a few months before requiring a manual defrost and has continued to make intermittent loud humming noises that vibrate to the upper floors of our house. Very annoying. It seems uncertain how long this refrigerator continues to work…and the holidays are coming. Good thing we have a twenty five year olds refrigerator in the basement that has never had a problem!
