Overall this refrigerator functions as expected except for the ice blockage issue. This gradually becomes so bad no ice can be obtained and it requires a hair dryer to melt the ice and remove the ice bin. The ice bin then requires de icing in the sink. It is an annoying issue that is time consuming and messy to remedy. There has also been a compressor failure that required replacement.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this 4 years ago for our new home because I loved the layout inside - smart design to optimize space and get the most sq ft. The freezer drawer with two additional drawers inside is very nice. The main fridge area is spacious and versatile. I love being able to easily organize. But something went out with the sealed system - the compressor was continually running but it wasn't cooling. It actually ended up heating up the fridge and freezer and we lost everything inside. I was told this is common with LG and they have an extended 5-year warranty specifically for the sealed system, which would be great if they had anyone who could repair it anywhere near me. I've been without a refrigerator for 3+ weeks because there is no one to repair. Bummer because I really did like the layout better than competitors. Check if there are repair people in your area before purchasing.

Horrible product - multiple compressor failures

We bought this fridge seven years ago and have had a technician out three times. The first visit was within two years of purchase when the unit quit cooling. The latest issue was with the compressor which failed in January 2021. We bought a new compressor, had it installed. This new compressor quit cooling this past weekend. Technician said the compressor failed. Am I too late to join the lawsuit?

We've been keeping the back side vent clean for the last two years but, I haven't got much faith that we won't need to replace the compressor again in a few years. They're expensive too.
