Good size but the linear compressor has problems

We like a lot about this refrigerator- size, ice maker, capacity. However the problems that LG has had with the linear compressors continue with this model, ours went after 7 years along with other components.

Since purchasing this model we've had nothing but problems. On 4 separate occasions the back panel completely froze up with ice buildup. In addition the compressor failed and needed to be replaced. As of late the compressor has failed yet again, and the unit will need to be replaced. The unit is a complete loss in the seventh year of ownership.

Have the fridge for a couple weeks. I thought the hidden fridge door for everyday things like milk would not be used but I was wrong. It’s one of my favourite features. Solid water and ice dispenser. Maybe ice cubes are a little on the small side from my last LG fridge. It’s quiet and the lighting is great inside the fridge / freezer. All in all great value for the proce.

The refrigerator is exactly four years old when the condenser went out and needed to be replaced. The heating element for the condensate drain went out approximately three years ago and needed to be replaced. The condenser cost was born by LG except for the lost product we had, the condensate drain heater we paid for. We like the refrigerator and it’s features but question it’s durability as well as seller not having repair staff or contractor in house, we will look for this the next time if we can.

Just received refrigerator. Set up was easy. However, removing the protective plastic covering all the panels are extremely difficult to remove. These sheets of sticky plastic are part of the panel during factory assembly and are very difficult to fully remove without disassembling the trim from the doors or without using a razor blade.
