7 years old, major repairs to cooling system twice

If I could give it a zero, I would. Still has problems cooling and keeping items frozen within fridge and the freezer. This unit is a disaster.

Poor reliability

Compressor went out at 5 years. LG replaced it for no cost, good. However,it just went out again. Unreliable

I am in love with this refrigerator. The room inside is fantastic and the ability to arrange shelves to your needs is fabulous. The doors open and close quietly and the freezer drawer glides so easily. The exterior design is also a welcome addition to my kitchen. I love the door open warning system...it would be nice if the freezer door had that as well.(.operator error..I left it slightly ajar one night)
Pros: Performance, Style/Design, easy to use, Features/Settings, Quality

Broken in 4 Months

I've had several problems with this refrigerator and it's only 4 months old. The ice maker design is flawed and causes ice to jam in the tray. My vegetables froze in the lower bin despite the temperature setting being put on "produce." Now I am getting error messages and am waiting for a service call. The freezer is not cooling properly and the defrost mechanism appears to have gone out.
Despite it's size, the overall design makes it difficult to adequately store all of my groceries. There is inadequate space for taller items. Things tend to get buried in the back. I had a much easier time getting everything into my old side-by-side refrigerator despite it being smaller. The freezer has an annoying auto-close feature on the door. When loading groceries or looking for items, you must keep one hand on the door handle at all times to prevent it from closing. You can't use two hands to load or remove items.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Factory defect

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this Refrigerator over two years ago (March 21st 2015). Shortly after the 2nd year anniversary we have identified the need to service these unit because of ice build-up behind and under the crisper compartment in the fresh food area of the refrigerator. apparently this is a very common problem on this model due to a defect on the fan that is supposed to circulate the air inside the fridge.
At this point I would like LG to take responsibility because this is a recurrent problem that has been described by multiple buyers and I have not received a communication from LG providing us with a solution.
LG has the opportunity now to make good on their products and their quality by fixing the problem.
We will be open to hear back from LG and change our mind regarding their customer service policy and will come back here to change our review as our problem gets solved.
Thanks in advance and will be waiting to hear back from LG.

Shopped extensively and decided to buy this one. My wife is hard to please and she loves her new frig. Plenty of space to store both in freezer and refrigerator
