WAS impressed but now a year later not so much

I bought this speaker about one year ago and I LOVED it right away!! I use it every day and about two months ago it started doing something weird. It's bluetooth range has become so short that my iPhone has to stay with 5 feet of the speaker or it cuts out. Then when it cuts out, when the music comes back on the tone is off for a few seconds. It's very frustrating! I listen to music while cleaning the house and I like to keep my phone on me because it's also my pedometer but now I have to deal with my music cutting out all the time. I don't know if I would buy this again.

The solution might be as simple as a reset, accomplished by connecting the speaker to the power supply, then turning it on and pressing and holding the AUX and Volume - buttons for 10-20 seconds, until a tone is heard. This might also be a good time for you to visit our software update site at updates.Bose.com/SoundLinkColor to be sure you have the most recent version. Turn the SoundLink Color on and verify your speaker is working properly.

Disappointed

I've been pleased with BOSE products in the past, so the decision to purchase the SoundLink Color Bluetooth speaker was a no-brainer. I paired it with my office laptop on the first try and the sound quality was very good, and I was very pleased. However, it has gotten to where it doesn't hold a charge more than a couple of hours, so I have to keep it plugged in if I want to listen to it. On top of that, it has somehow lost it's pairing and will not pair back up with my laptop. Nothing changed on my laptop, so I'm at a loss. For the last 2-3 weeks I've been having to use a headset attached to my laptop, and that's really poor sound quality, and not exactly the way I want to listen to my music.

Not what you expect from Bose

I bought this less than a month but didn't unpack it until a few days ago. It was tricky getting it to pair with my iPad and iPhone and easily lost the connection. I went on line to troubleshoot the device when it stopped pairing at all. It does not respond the way the instructions says it should. It won't change languages, but I have learned a little Japonese. I'm taking it back where I bought hoping I can exchange the device. It's the first Bose speaker, or any Bose product that doesn't work and completely lacks the quality I'm come to expect from Bose. It's nothing to write home about even when it worked. I'm quite disappointed with this product. Still, it sounds better than most, especially for the price and considering its small lightweight size. I'm hoping this particular speaker is just a bad egg. Otherwise I'll let you know.

Nice sound for the size and price point

This little speaker is one of the better sounding Bluetooth speakers on the market for this size and price. I also have the original Bose Soundlink speaker, which has better sound quality, but it's much more expensive and it isn't nearly as portable. If you plan on leaving your speaker around the house, you might be better off purchasing a larger Bluetooth speaker with better sound. However, if you want something cheaper and easy to take on the road (hotels, airplane luggage rides, etc.), this is a great option. Honestly, I wouldn't lose much sleep if it was damaged during travels, but I've had it for over a year and I've taken it all over the country with no issues at all.
The one minor complaint I have is that my iPhone can't control the volume of the speaker - I have to walk over to the speaker and press the volume +/- buttons on the speaker. It's a first world problem, but it's a strange quirk. My standard Bose Soundlink speaker does allow the volume to be adjusted from the phone, so I don't know why the color Soundlink doesn't allow that.
The setup and connections are very easy. The voice feedback is also a nice feature.

I bought this through Dell. I am not disappointed. I use it w/ my iPad and the sound is HUGE. I enjoy the music as well.

Pretty good

I've been impressed with this speaker, the battery is great, easy to use, looks nice, for the first few months the sound was great but lately I've had to turn it up louder and the bass was not as responsive. I know that all speakers will die out, but being a Bose, I thought it would have lasted longer.

Bought this a few months ago and absolutely loved it. Great sound loved the portability of it. I have no radio in my car so I would take this with me and sync it with my phone. Just recently it started no to hold a charge. I would charge it completely and it would be dead in no time. Tried several times... it's not holding a charge. Can't find info on how to trouble shoot.

Died after 18 months

the sound quality WAS good. the battery was already getting bad after the first year. now it wont even turn on and the warranty has expired. going with another brand, there are better options out there.
