I have owned this refrigerator for 12 years and have used the GSWF filter all the time without any worry about leaking or ant other problem..
I would recommend this to a friend!

Installed in GE refrig and got dribble flow. Soaked hour in bucket of water, same result. Soaked overnight, same result. Enlarged output flow holes, same result. Pounded with heel of hand to break any seal, same result. Finally gave up and reinstalled old filter, result decent flow.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Metallic, weird taste

I bought directly from GE because I was worried about the trustworthiness of knock off filters. I bought this tasted funny and then my six year old confirmed my fears by saying "this water tastes like metal." So, now we are just using a Brita and I'm out the money that I spent on this questionable filter :(.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
