Bioshock takes place in an underwater city in the 1950's. The controls are easy to use, the weapons and powers are simple to understand, but have varied use. The things that make this game shine are the graphics and storyline. The lighting and detail in everything is phenominal, and helps you actually belive there could have been an underwater city. The story is very deep, and sucks you into the game, untill your constantly having those" Gimme five minutes, just five more". In addition, and popularly read gaming magazine rated this game a perfect 10/10.

Bioshock is the best and most involving single player experience I have had in quite some time. I am enjoying every plot twist and exciting turn the game takes! Using the enviroment as a weapon was so revolutionary for me, so not only can I use my shotgun, but I can light that pool of oil on fire with Incinerate and create a fire wall between me and my enemy! Or even electrify water to zap them!
Never have I been so deeply engaged in a game's storyline. This game is much, much more. At first, i was discouraged from the game because i thought i didn't like scary games much. BioShock truly isn't very scary, and the only thing that will scare you is having an enemy turn out the lights and then attack you from behind. that's how smart the AI is. I give this game a 98 out of 100 because it doesn't have multiplayer - but its still one of the top 3 games I have ever played.

PROS: Ultimate in Immersion; Graphics are Beautiful, especially water; Sound Design = Best I've ever heard. Enemies are smart, and have unique personalities. Multiple Play through's are encouraged. Who doesn't like 1940's songs?
CONS: Hacking can get Boring and Repetitive pretty quickly Frame rate Hitches can ruin the fun at times, but go away quickly Enemies aren't as varied as they could be. Some Coop Would have been nice

Your path to discovery in Bioshock is littered with tales of a once ambitious underworld society called Rapture, and its merits gone horribly wrong. Free of any real scrutiny, the world of Rapture is now populated with the screaming shells of its former residents; genetic misfires wander at every turn and shadow crying out in the crumbling infrastructure. This is a rich first-person shooter that embraces the high reward of atmosphere. You can see the lavish water go against the rotting design. The push of history is frozen as you encounter the evidence which unravels those doomed by their own principles. The sounds that echo send a pulse through your skin unlike any other. More than action, the true player in Bioshock is your own imagination. What exactly happened in Rapture, and more importantly, where is the way out? Once you finish, you will no doubt be firm in your belief that Bioshock rests comfortably among the more memorable game titles of the last decade.

This is it! Fantastic game that really sucks you in. Let me put it to you this way, I'm a smoker and usually I take a break from a game to get my fix. Doesn't happen in this game. I played the first time for 5 hours straight, (girlfriend was busy on the internet), and never felt like getting up. Lots of secret areas and things to discover. Is this the Halo killer? Well, we'll have to wait and see when Halo 3 comes out.

I found Bioshock to be very entertaining. I found it difficult to stop playing due to the immersive graphics, ease of control, endless variety of weapon and plasmid configurations, and great storyline. It is always a plus when a game allows you to control the outcome with each decision you make, such as the right choices to allow you into Cohen's apartment later. Or, the decision to harvest or rescue a little sister. The achievements are obtainable and force you to take alternate paths each time you play it to complete every one. Bioshock is definitely worth the money, time, and game playing effort. I place it on the shelf next to Gears of War and Call of Duty.
