Cheap, real cheap

I bought this printer because it was cheaper to buy the entire printer than it was to buy an Ink refill for my old Epson CX-3200.
Initially, the printer worked great. However, after being turned off for a few weeks, I turned it back on to scan some things, and the scanner no longer worked.
Searching on the error code led me down a road of driver and firmware updates That got the scanner running.
But it took half an hour. To scan one sheet. Because the software is not reliable.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Easy setup

satisfied with it's performance. The setup was easy. I
mainly just use it for printing. It does the job for me.

Mis leading discription

I think the box saying you need a USB cable is mis-leading...in fact it isn't a regular USB cable needed at all. I went and bought a regular cable (The $$ wasn't the issue, the time was) just to find out when I went to hook it up, the cable from my old printer works just fine.

I cannot get it connected. It either says printer not found or not connected. So I have a printer that I cannot use. I've tried several times and all I'm doing is using up my ink. I'm going need to buy some ink pretty soon which I do not like.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Terrible machine. Ink -- even high capacity tanks -- don't last, you'll spend way too much on ink.
Software stinks, too:
I never had a printer that required so much input. Keep it close to your desk because every time you change paper (letter to envelopes, etc) you'll have to go thru more non-intuitive setting adjustments (plural). Every time you choose "copy" or "fax" or "scan" instead of "print" you'll go thru more and more setting adjustments, very non-intuitive.
I'll NEVER buy another Epson anything. Just too much drama, even without the ink constantly running out.
