This coffee maker is like riding a roller coaster

Bought this coffee maker 1.5 years ago. First 12 months was good - then started leaking. B&D was nice enough to send me a new one!!!Now that one is not working properly - took 35 minutes to brew this morning - put in 12 cups and got 6 cups brewed - most went up in steam for some reason. we clean every day. Thinking of going to a different brand now. I wish this worked better since most won't fit under our cabinets.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Was happy until...

Decided to take the plunge and purchase this coffee maker with all the expected coffee drinkers around the house for the holidays. Prior to that...I own/used the Black and Decker personal coffee maker for 3+ years and I should of learned my lesson from that, because...guess what? You can't buy a replacement mug for that either. And third party sellers have the replacements priced at more than the coffee maker itself.
BESIDES the hefty price tag...loved, loved, LOVED everything about this maker, the grinder feature, timer, speed, clean up, etc, and then unfortunately the carafe chipped and it has been a nightmare ever since.
Couldn't find a replacement carafe or anything remotely similar (priced within reason) anywhere. I ended up purchasing the closest carafe match I could find on the Black and Decker site (yup...spent more money on their products...AGAIN!) and it was just a waste. The coffee produced is now at best luke warm, spills and sputtering everywhere cause the new pot doesn't even line up with the plunger/downspout.
So disappointed in the Black and Decker brand. Totally avoiding them in the future.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Finally....a nice HOT cup of "cawfee"!

We finally broke down and bought a different coffee maker as our previous one just didn't make the coffee hot enought. We purchased the Black & Decker CM5000B 12-Cup Mill and Brew Coffeemaker, Black. It grinds the beans (I use to do this separately) and the coffee is nice and hot. (No more warming it up in the microwave.) However, the carafe broke and I can't find our model replacement part. Sad Face. (& you don't want to be around a household that hasn't had their morning cup.)
I would recommend this to a friend!

Great coffee maker, no direct fit replacement

I bought this coffee maker over a year and half ago and my family has loved it. Well until the carafe broke. This machine still works well and it is a shame I cannot find a direct fit replacement anywhere. The standard replacement carafe lists other coffee models but not the Mill & Brew CM5000B. The carafe has a unique design on the lid portion. The only available replacement carafe does not work with this coffee maker.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Terrific Coffee with fresh ground beans on timer

Have always enjoyed fresh ground coffee -- used to have a grinder and you'd grind and put it in the coffee maker the night before -- or you'd grind several nights in a row and place it in a can but then it's no longer "fresh ground"
this machine is great as you just drop the beans in and it grinds them in the morning and you have a fresh pot of fresh ground coffee. Highly recommend it!
However the pot has a safety feature that won't let it grind or even brew if the top is not closed -- and the top has a pin on it that closes down into the basket which has another depressor pin which activates a switch which lets it run. If it's not pressed and you try to run it the light will blink. If you have it on timer you'll wake up in the morning and be disappointed. "next release" should maybe have a "ready light" so you know it's actually going to work in the morning!
At any rate the customer service department here offered to provide replacement parts to other's on this forum so I hope they will help me. I tried to email the indicated email address but never heard back so maybe the only way to get through is to post here! If so please email me and tell me how we can get this replacement part.

Love it-carafe got dropped :(

I love this coffee maker!! My son dropped the carafe today and finding a replacement has been difficult. I hope to be able to get a replacement instead of buying a whole new machine.
