well, lets just say im shocked im the first to review this movie because I think it's one of Tim Burton's best! Johnny Depp couldn't have played a better job at potraying victor. The cast is extremely talented and the songs really tell the story and they are good enough to go out and buy the soundtrack! it's rare that you can get everything you ask for in a movie and in this one you can get everything. the extras in the bonus features are interesting to.

My wife and I liked this movie. The only reason we didn't give it a higher rating was because we can't stand singing in movies. I know, it's for the kids. But, Coraline was great, and it didn't have any singing. After we fast forwarded through the singing, the movie was only like 35 minutes. Just like with Nightmare Before Christmas, this would've been better without all the singing. I recommend it just because we're huge fans of both Tim Burton and Johnny Depp, even though this is definitely not thier best. I highly recommend Coraline, Tim Burton at his best and NO singing. However, for the families out there with kids that do like Tim Burton's singing movies, I recommend Charlie and the Chocolate Factory and Sweeney Todd.
What's great about it: Johnny Depp and Tim Burton!
What's not so great: Very short, too much singing.

ok, just call me a big kid at heart but i loved this film & have seen it many times in the theatre & on dvd. tim burton has always made amusing films but this one ranks right up there with nightmare before christmas in my opinion. i wish this film were longer than 72 minutes but that's just small potatoes. the lead characters are likable in that genuine but quirky way that only tim burton can visualize. corpse bride even makes the viewer sympathize with the deceased young woman rather than the actual bride to be. at times even a bit heartfelt or touching, corpse bride manages to appeal to a wide variety of film-goers. the stop motion animation is clearly a work of genius too. although the film may be a wee bit too scary for yuonger audiences, the bigger kids will love it. there are sheer moments of laughter, suspense, & even a shy romantic interlude to please the grown-ups. corpse bride shouldn't be missed. quite simply, there is no reason not to own this film.

As if his name being part of the official title wasn't enough, one look at this world of the dead will assure you this IS in fact a Tim Burton movie! While it doesn't have QUITE the charm of 'The Nightmare Before Christmas,' Corpse Bride does succeed in having a happy little place in the world. That's not to put the movie down- I just enjoyed 'Nightmare' more. Corpse Bride's characters are split perfectly down the middle- dead and alive. In the world of the living, the timeframe is set during a depression where colors are drab and characters have no real life to them. In stark contrast is the realm of the dead where EVERYONE has color and life (so to speak)! The Corpse Bride herself is quite comical- fully aware of her fate but giggling all the way, she seems to enjoy being a newlywed even though its not meant to be. Johnny Depp again delivers exceptional voicework, showing once more how he can simply BECOME a character and cease to be Johnny. Other than being far too short, I have nothing bad to say about this little movie. I saw it in theaters, and now I have it on Bluray. Couldn't really be happier!
What's great about it: Wonderfully Colorful (dead) Characters

For any Tim Burton fan out there, this is definitely a must see. Johnny Depp really knows how to become the character he's portraying in the movie and he has great chemistry with Helena Bonham Carter (they were both in Sweeney Todd) which can be seen throughout the movie despite them being just voiceovers. Other than the length of the movie, I really have no complaints about this film.
What's great about it: The claymation looks great on Blu-Ray, colorful characters in the movie, interesting storyline

this movie appeals to all groups of movie-watchers. it combines tim burton's unique style of film making with a kind-of spielberg story-telling. you should definately buy it!
