Filters are trash

So the hood itself is.... fine. It does its job. It's basic. It's hard to get wowed by a hood, you know? But the filters? Those are trash. They don't stay put and fall down if you look at them sideways. They drip grease like crazy, no matter if they were just cleaned or not. And finding replacements (or even just alternatives) is challenging. So based on the filters alone, I'd avoid this product unless GE can solve the filter issue.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

If you've followed the directions in your Use and Care manual for cleaning and replacing these filters and they're still greasy and falling our of your hood, service may be needed. We just built a new home and this is the hood that our builder installed. We are very pleased with the look and features. We hear a bit of a "whirring" when the fan is on the low setting, but we're pretty certain it's becuase it is brand new.

This range hood looks 100%! Not only does it look spectacular, it works! External ventilation setup prevents the smoke detectors from going off even when searing steaks in cast iron!
