I like the small overall size. The ability to duplex print and scan are very important to me.

Purchase was a mistake

I purchased this machine when I decided to update my 10-year-old printer for one that was wireless. It has been a terrible mistake. Worst of all is that since I installed the software, I've had all kinds of problems with my computer and gotten messages that I have malware. The machine is terribly noisy. It prints documents from some programs but not from others. There is supposed to be 24x7 phone support, but I can't find the number. Big mistake!
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Have only used as a wireless printer or copier. Not sure how to feed multiple pages at once or how to set up as fax. Your instructionas are too vague.

Wonderful MFC-L2740DW

Great machine. I love it. Great features and so far very easy to use. Have not used fax or scan capabilities yet, but I am sure they will be easy to use.
One negative. This is my second MFC-L2740DW. I never got past the setup on my first one because the touch pad substrate cracked and ceased to respond to any inputs. I could not find anything in the instructions about the fragile nature of the substrate that is under the soft touchpad cover.
The dealer replaced that unit allowing me to discover what a good decision I made choosing another Brother machine. (My first Brother printer was a HL-2270DW that have just given to my oldest daughter so that she and my two youngest grandsons can experience what a good laser printer it is)

Great Machine

Did a lot of research into Laser all in one's and decided on the Brother MFC L2740DW after comparing various Brands and models. I've only had it for a week, but so far it is fantastic. Value and features made it a great choice. Set up was a breeze for all my devices, pc, MAC, phone, etc. . Thus far, the performance is outstanding, in all phases, i.e. faxing, copying, printing and scanning. I am very pleased at this point and would highly recommend this All-in-one.

Switching machines is a nightmare

The machine itself works fine on all counts, but with two identical machines in two different houses, all the computers try to use the last used IP address - requiring re-installation each time we go from one house to another. A nightmare. We may have to get rid of one.

I don't use it much but so far it works very well. A few glitches with the feeder but it could have been caused by the paper not having a clean edge. I would recommend it.
I bought it for the two sided scanning and I haven't been disappointed. I considered Brother because I am happy with my other MFC laser printer.
