Mistake

Very disappointed. I have not been able use the FAX capabilities. Called support and no results there except I was told that the MFC-L2740DW won't fax over the internet phone system because of noise which I don't believe.
Also wireless printing is iffy. Sometimes it will print and sometimes it won't. I have to recycle power to get it to print. It was a mistake.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Good Purchase-so far

The Brother MFC-L2740DW has worked well. The set-up was pretty easy. I had help from Brother when I called. However, I had to wait several minutes. The How to Scan PDF on the utilities does not appear when I click.
Over all it has functioned just how I wanted. It replaced an Epson Work Force. I had to get a new scanner when the Work Force stopped grabbing paper in the automatic feed. Only time will tell if the MFC-L2740DW will last longer.
I really like the two sided scanning and printing capability. I recommend the product.

MFC-L2740DW All I could ask for in a printer.

For the past 8-10 years I have purchased three brother printers,and all three are still working and being used. I do not use them for business just my home, and home office so they are not commercially used. That being said I have never experience any issue with any of them. I find them simple to use and set up to my network, and I'm 59 years old and don't consider myself a geek. I currently own a HL-2170W, HL-2280DW, and my newest MFC-L2740DW. Besides the aformentioned printers I also own the QL-710W label printer. Besides them being reliable the ink cartriges are reasonable, wether you use OEM cartriges or after market ones, they all work without a problem.
I would recommend this to a friend!

I had, previous to this one, a very expensive Canon. This one works almost as well for 1/10 the price. It's a little slow, but tolerable.

Print quality is very good.
Duplex option is very useful.
Two-sided scanning is the reason I bought this model. The scanning software also includes a continuous scan option which allows one to combine single/double sided scanning from the feeder with odd items on the platen (that wouldn't feed) into a single file.
It is also compact.
I have used it wirelessly and with an ethernet cable (not at the same time). Both methods work fine.

I am pleased with the performance but I can not use my internet phone to Fax or to scan my documents. The wireless printer needs much improvements. I followed the instructions for internet phone but it does not work.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Great all in one printer for my office

This printer works well with my clinic's electronic health record system. Scans double sided documents, prints fast, ink is economical, works as a fax machine and copies fast too.
I would recommend this to a friend!
