Compact with all the features

So far , so good. I owned a Brothers MFC-8910 all-in -one that recently died after just a few years. The MFC-L2740 DW is very user friendly, makes copies quickly, scans, faxes. It is a little slow to start, but overall, I am satisfied with it. The only problem is that it will not accept faxes directly as I have voice mail through my phone company. The faxes go to voice mail, which is a pain. The old 8910 used to recognize the difference between faxes and voice, and that was better. I just hope this machine lasts longer than the last one.

Definitely a "light duty" printer. Seems like it goes through toner much faster than my previous printer. Would like to have an audio signal when the feeder is out of paper.

Fast and seamless integration into my network

Fast printing and scanning. Works fairly well with the faxing process as well, but that is not the main use of ours. I'm still impressed with the internet printing, network connectivity, and ability for all my computers (including those not on the network) to be able to print to my home office. The only 2 gripes I have, and which are minor, are: The screen is too small for a touch screen. Either give me navigation buttons separately or increase the screen size so I can more easily navigate the screens. The printer pulls a LOT of juice when it warms up, and my lights dim noticeably. I need to get another UPS because the one I have freaks out every time the printer warms up due to the large power draw amperage.
Overall it is the best printer I've ever used, but I can't give 5 stars if it is not close to perfect. I'd like to give 4.5 stars if possible.
