working well on Macintosh

I've read some problems getting this to work on a Macintosh, but I've had no such problem, either with scanning or printing. (Mac OS 10.9.5 "Mavericks") Printing "just worked", even connecting to the printer through Wi-Fi. (USB printing nearly always works, on just about anything.) The scanning facility built-in to Mac OS works great.
I've read of issues with the printer not waking up from power-saving / sleep mode, but I've seen no such problem.
I've had paper jams from the main paper tray a couple times, but I frequently re-use partially-printed paper such as junk mail for casual printouts, so I'm probably asking for it. I don't think I've ever had a problem with new paper.
I haven't tried to get faxxing to work yet, nor have I tried OCR scanning; I'm not sure that's even possible on a Mac without buying extra software. I've rarely even thought of using OCR, so I'm not likely to do that.

The interface with wirl SS, MAC and apple iPad and iPhone is horrible. There is a regular problem with the printer going into deep sleep and not being seen. Also the we print does not seem to work. Have had to call brother support many times. Would not buy again. Also can not work with 5 Ghz modems

Little disappointed

Needed better printer. Switched from HP to brother on recommendation from tech. Printing is good..however when using top feeder you get black line on copy /scan. No line if use glass. Pain if you have multiple pages to copy/scan

A very good product

I'm satisfied with the product. I've used it for scanning and copying. I have yet to use the fax function. It works fine. The only issue might be the slightly elevated sound when operating I changed from a Samsung product. The utility for that product was replaced by Windows 10. It was cumbersome to operate and would not allow the use of a pdf product.

Best Multi-function Yet

This is my third Brother MFC and this is the best yet. Pretty much every feature and capability you could want, combined with affordable consumables and Brother's well known reliability. Especially impressed with duplex copying--two sided originals to two sided copies! Lighted LCD display makes it easy to set options.
I would recommend this to a friend!
