Love it, great machine

The size of the machine, large amount of paper it will hold are great. It's compact, the printing quality is excellent. I would recommend this machine. the only drawback is the small window that is the touch screen to choose your options. If it were bigger it would be perfect.

Keep getting notices for up dates. It says to hit the brother icon on my desk top. I do but nothing there that says anything about updates. Where are th updates?

Printer NEVER WORKS

I have never had more trouble with 1 printer before in my life. You must uninstall then reinstall brother software everytime you want to print or scan. I have spent more money at FedexKinkos printhing things than the actual cost of this printer.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Handy Personal Printer, Not good for Business

Pros: unit has network scan capability, identifies networks easily, User interface of software easy to figure out (post install), small physical footprint for MFP, high resolution capability for scans, and fast scan and print for size & function. Great as personal MFP. Scan To function from scanner works smoothly and easily for multiple systems on network. Supports enabling/disabling of wireless or wired functions independently or together.
Cons: Wireless connectivity does not work in WPA/WPA2 Enterprise networks that require user authentication. Software installation is complex and network scanning function can only be configured through the software installation. Does not support Scan To Email on MFP, itself. Address book for MFP is only for Fax. Scan To Email function only available through Software Utility after installation.
Overall: Personal use is great, and when using with 1-3 PCs in a home environment. If using with a small business, it starts to get too complex in functionality that hinders productivity.

The installation was pretty straightforward. It set up on network easily. Installed software and drivers on my MacBook Pro and HP laptop. Updated the latest printer software on the printer. The copy and scan functions are great for home use. Have not had any printing jams. However, I keep having problems with the printer going offline. Every time I want to print something, I have to turn the printer off then back on so it can be found by the computer. The problem seems to be more pronounced on the MacBook than the HP. Don't seem to find any solutions on Brother's support site. If it were not for the print and scan quality, would not give this product even one star.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Set this all-in-one up to work wirelessly with multiple computes with WIN 8.1, iOS and Chromebook. Set-up was pretty easy...just take the time to read the very good documentation. Everything works great! Love the 2-sided fax functionality and two-sided printing.
I would recommend this to a friend!
