this is probably the best black & white printer I ever owned .built like a tank & so easy to use,whether to fax or,copy .or print .easy easy love it

Great Unit

This is my second All-in-One Brother unit and couldn't be happier with its performance. the only problem I'm having is getting the fax to work with the Ooma voice over internet phone system.
I would recommend this to a friend!

HORRIBLE PRINTER

I've been in business for over 40 years. This is by far the single WORST printer I have ever used. The design is terribly inefficient. Envelopes don't print straight. The scanner doesn't scan straight. The drum sensor doesn't reset. It's basically a waster of money. I will NEVER purchase another Brother printer.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Everything in one machine

I use my MFC every day for work. Usually I have no issues but sometimes my machine disconnects from the WIFI. When I do have issues I call Brothers customer service and get help immediately, which I love! Every time I do need to call I get the most excellent customer service for help with my machine. My MFC is awesome but the customer service make this an even better machine!
I would recommend this to a friend!

This machine has been nothing but a pain to deal with. The instructions are beyond complicated, and I wish that I had never purchased it.

Happy with printer so far

We moved to a laser printer anfter years of using an inkjet. We do not use the printer often and always had to clean the heads to get the ink flowing. This printer is great for us bc it’s always ready, prints quickly, and has the connectivity we really use. Printing from our iPhones and iPad is awesome and worked seemlesy. We have used the print, copy, and scan functions. We will never use the fax as we do not have a phone line. We would have preferred not to have fax capability and saved the money but this was what was available when we needed it so we bought it knowing we would never use it. We have only had it a few months so far and we are happy with it. One thing we do not like is that scanning isn’t available via the document feeder and that each sheet scanned generates a separate file on our pc. We may not know how to use all the features yet but I would really like to scan to pdf and to scan multiple pages to a single file. Other than that we are very happy with this printer as a replacement to our inkjet.

As I am a novice, I needed the excellent instruction booklet that was enclosed. It took me a while to set yup and connect to my wifi but then it worked well. I like the fact that I don't need to replace cartridges all the time.
