A Bit Disappoining

This Top Loading washer has some drawbacks that were mentioned in other reviews but not with a frequency that would warrant a search for a different model. The fact is: - the EXTRA RINSE really is necessary to remove all of the soap suds. The WATER PLUS feature actually is necessary in order to cover the clothing with enough water. An alternative to that would be to open the washer 1/2 way through the wash cycle and push the dry portion of the clothing under water yourself. You may choose the HOT WATER selection on certain modes of operation, i.e. COTTONS. HOWEVER, we went a month of washes making that selection not realizing that there was no HOT WATER entering the machine. We learned this quite by accident as we 'added' clothes partway into the wash cycle and realized that it was all cold water in the tub. After doing due diligence with the manual and the hot water hookup - we called LG. They informed that you must choose the FABRIC SOFTENER cycle along with the HOT Water selection for the washer to actually fill with hot water. You don't need to physically put in Fabric Softener - just choose that selection. That is bizarre.... but it does work that way. That information is NOT in the Manual. I wonder how many folks think they are getting hot water when they make that selection?! The Washer does have a fabulous spin cycle and a great motor warranty of 10 years - and lifetime on the stainless tub. Not sure if it actually cleans the clothes without choosing for extra rinse and extra water.

Extra Large with All Cycles I Want!

I bought one of the new Sears brand washers 3 years ago. It was much smaller and had no way to just rinse or just spin clothes. The worst thing was it broke after 1.5 years. I thought washers dont break for ten years or so. It was a new High Efficiency low water washer. It never was great because it was so limitted on shat it could do. Well, I paid a sears repair guy yo come out, he replaced the belt and pulley that didnt look warn. i used it fir another year and it happened again. the belt kept sliding off. Just a really bad design. I left it where it sat when I moved. This LG i have researched snd know people that are happy with theirs for years. I love the size and functions. i am disabled and on a fixed low income and cant afford another mistake or I will be washing all clothes at a laundromat which really isnt physically or economically possible.. Thank you LG. You made laundry almost a pleasure.

This product is the best washer I have ever used!

Best washer ever! The water level fills to the top of the cloths line so it does not waste water. Cloths come out very clean. I use to do 6 loads a week now I only do 3 large loads and sometimes a very small delicate cycle. I would do 2 loads of white cloths and now I do 1 load. My hamper is filled to the top with cloths which would mean 2 loads of each color catagory. ( black, colors and whites) now Im down to one load of each!

great water saver, easy use

Have had my washer a little over a month now, and we love it. It does most of the thinking for you with ease of controls. It uses so little water we can't believe it, I am anxious to get my water bill next month to see just how much it has saved us. The first day we washed 4 loads (included towels and various other items) and we agreed that the water used in those 4 loads was probably not even the amount of water used in one load in our old washer. There is hardly any lint build up in the drain, which was a major problem with our old agitator washer. So it is much more kind to the cloths and they seem cleaner overall. I would highly recommend this washer. We are hoping by this summer to be able to purchase the matching dryer for overall better efficiency when doing our laundry.

I have had this washer for about two months now. So far we love it ! We love all the different cycles in it is so big it has cut down on our number of loads. The washer is very quite which is really nice too. So far I would totally recommend this washer.

Can't perform - Doesn't Clean Clothes

This washer machine has some real flaws. The design and software of this machine can not perform what it advertises. It does not conserve on water or electricity. It does not clean clothes properly. The machine dispenses laundry detergent and liquid softener any time during the laundry cycle. Does not spin correctly. I have to physically add more water to my loads because it does not put enough in. A lot of the clothes float to the top. I have to put my clothes on an extra spin cycle. I have washed some articles of clothing twice because the washer did not clean it correctly. My towels come out hard as a rock when dried. Very Disappointed.
Pros: looks pretty

Excellent in everyway

I am in love with this washing machine. I feel like I'm channeling a 1950s housewife (no sexism intended). I actually look fwd to using it every weekend. I've had it for almost 3 months, and it's literally perfect in every way. Not only does it clean my family's clothes, but it has so many options to individualize many different kinds of loads. Also, the machine is physically beautiful -- the stainless steel tub is wondrous, and the glass top is terrific. I literally go and watch the wash being washed!
