Loud! Light settings dont work. Does heat nice.

I have always stuck with GE, but this was a very disappointing purchase. The fan is extremely loud. Although there is supposed to be different light settings over the cooktop, the light output is the same at both settings and dim!! The door cracked and is still cracking from normal use and I take care when using it. It does heat food nicely though. But the cons outweigh that. Wish it could be returned.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I purchased this on 10-28-12, installed 11-1-12. No charcoal filter inside upon looking for one on 1-6-2017

Have never had one problem with this microwave. Unfortunately, 2 days ago it passed away to appliance heaven. It was fifteen years old.

I will miss this microwave

I love this microwave it has survived several children and 1 foil incident. We have had it since 2010 and it’s just now giving me issues. Wont heat food properly (double cook time), sometimes fan won’t turn off (reset it) it is in fantastic condition (clean freak) except 1 black spot where my son decided to put foil in it. It still looks almost like the day I got it. Looking to replace it now, it will be missed!

Hidden hazard

I have had this microwave 5 years and really no issues until yesterday. I shocked to see a fire in the microwave after few minutes, luckily I was able to put it out. I couldn't understand what went wrong. I saw a metal fan piece with melted plastic on the dish. I've cleaned this over a hundred times and never saw a metal fan. As I was researching this, I came across the cover melting issue that others have posted about. Must have been the fan cover. It's frightening that this could have burned my kitchen down had I not caught it in time. GE should look into this hazard.
