The microwave spontaneously caught fire

It caught fire. We were heating food and thankfully we were near the microwave and saw the flame inside. The inside dish cracked and the ring that holds the plate melted...

Plastic inside catching on fire

Just used the microwave and immediately noticed the molten plastic starting to drip. After a quick search of the model number I see that other customers are also having issues with the plastic inside catching on fire.

I thought I smelled burning plastic right after hitting the popcorn button, walked into the next room and the smell got stronger. Looked in the window, it's still running and there's flames shooting down from the top and dripping plastic. The popcorn hadn't even started to pop yet. Luckily this unit didn't burn the house down as I caught it in time.
There seems to be defect in this model as I see others having the exact same fire in the same area.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Caught fire :(

My microwave also caught fire and I'm quite careful. I'd avoid this model, this must be a design flaw if others have experienced it.

Much like everyone else’s mine just caught fire too! Heating up coffee in the same coffee cup I use every day.

Burst into flames!

Ours was not actually running as a microwave when it caught fire. We were merely running its exhaust fan. We noticed an odd odor and turned to see flames inside the oven shooting down from the center of its ceiling. We opened the oven door and sprayed with our fire extinguisher. Once the fire was out, we noticed what looked like blackened insulation and metal or plastic pieces hanging down from the ceiling.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

EXHAUST FAN CONSTANTLY RUNS

I have always bought GE microwaves. Don't know if it is a new feature on all their microwaves but the exhaust fan automatically comes on when using the microwave and cannot be turned off until the microwave turns off itself and is excessively loud and annoying. After installing it I honestly thought there was something wrong with it until reading the instruction manual which noted that this was a feature. If I knew about it ahead of time I would have gone with another brand or model. It's that annoying. Extremely dissatisfied.

This product has a big flaw!

The plastic on the door cracks and their is a large crack on the lower front of the door.
