We've used our JVM1540 for over 6 months and find it to be a good micro for the price. It clanks and thumps a lot. It is not as powerful as our previous GE micro, so things take a little longer, but for the price is quite decent.
I would recommend this to a friend!

We are remodeling our kitchen and needed a white over-the-range microwave. Our budget was smaller than we expected, but this microwave did the trick. Cost was perfect and so is the microwage.

I love my extra rack in the microwave. My kids can re-heat their meals together. So there's arguing over who is going to use the microwave first. It was so easy to install for my 17 year old son. Great job, GE!

Purchased this microwave in September 2012. The unit has been used a few times a week since it was installed. Thirteen months after purchased the microwave quit working. Very unhappy that I need to replace the unit after a little over a year and only one month after the warranty expired. DO NOT PURCHASE THIS MICROWAVE!

I was replacing an older model and got this because from the pictures it looked to most similar. Buttons are in the wrong place and curved front is ridiculous making getting to the stove harder.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
