Multiple Issues

We really liked this fridge at first. In under three years, we started having cooling problems followed by water leaking underneath. The freezer and then fridge stopped cooling all together after only owning this for 3 years! LG sent a technician and they did replace the compressor, but not until after we bought a back up freezer! With that, the repairman tried at least on five different occasions to repair the leak. It has not been resolved and out floors have been ruined. We have had to turn off the water connection, so no water in the door or ice in the ice makers. We are now needing to have our flooring fixed as well. Not inexpensive even through home owners insurance! Seriously, not happy with this fridge at all. You could say it was a fluke, but my mother bought the same fridge on our recommendation... and hers stopped cooling even before ours! To say that LG has issues is an understatement!

No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Compressor and ice dispenser problems

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is the second one I’ve had in four years. Tons of issues with the compressor in the first one. So far so good with the new one but it’s only been a few months. Time will tell. Both are 30 cubic feet but the old one seemed to have more room in the frig area. The differences I see I don’t like from the old one. There were three veggie fruit drawers and now two. I liked the three better. We used to open them from the top lip now you open from a bottom lip. We prefer the top made more sense and easier to use. Veryyyy disappointed in the meat deli drawer. The old open 100 percent. Now over 1/3 doesn’t open and you forget things are back there. Really poorly designed. We love the double ice maker! The large ice balls are slow in making but well worth the wait!! Lastly the French doors do not open as wide as the old one which we find is restrictive. We only hope this unit lasts longer than three years before it dies like the old one. But for now it’s working well.
