[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I purchased this unit 4.5 years ago and expected it to last. The compressor failed, ruining all of the contents of the refrigerator and freezer. According to the appliance repair man (not affiliated with LG) the compressor on this model and others produced between 2016 and 2018 were known by LG to fail. I am not sure why LG would not have done a product “recall” and replaced the defective compressor before failure. I will not recommend LG appliances to anyone as I have an LG gas stove that has required 4 igniter replacements on the upper oven, does not come up to temperature and an LG stainless steel dishwasher that has a permanent dark stain in the middle of the exterior door. They were all purchased at the same time.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We have had our fridge for almost 4 years now and have generally been pretty satisfied with it. In terms of its size, the configuration inside (freezer on bottom, flexible shelving, door-in-door for easy accessibility to drinks, etc.), water and ice dispenser and overall looks, we've really enjoyed it. One challenge has been that the compressor went out and it's taking us a month to get it fixed. The repair person is actually coming today and we can't wait to get our functional fridge back. Overall, very happy with the product.

The plus is the outer door which allows storage of frequently used items without having to open the entire refrigerator. The freezer is also quite spacious. The down side is the shelf height which is not conducive to taller items such as wine bottles or cartons.

I was able to speak to LG and they scheduled a service appointment and got the compressor replaced. I was happy to get it fixed and it’s working perfectly now!
