The compressor failed after 4.5 years while I was out of town. Although it was repaired under warranty, the failure resulted in the loss of several hundreds of dollars of frozen and refrigerated food. The cost of the food and the cleanup were not covered. While waiting for my repair appointment the control board on my 3 year old LG dryer also failed. This repair was not under warranty. I am beginning to wish I had never heard of LG appliances and am concerned that my range and washer are now due to fail.

Will never buy LG again

So sad as fridge had such potential and they lost a customer for life. Broke down twice in 5 years with the compressor issues. Now our favorite scenario, broke down 10 days after our 5 year warranty ended and a month before our baby is due.

Purchased this fridge in 2016 and was excited to have the fridge we really wanted with lots of space and features. Unfortunately have experienced many issues and currently looking to purchase a new one (not LG this time). Have had the compressor go out twice, the ice maker freezes up after multiple repairs, and just yesterday the ice maker malfunctioned and caught on FIRE. Very lucky we were home to catch it but will not be purchasing another LG.

Had this fridge for 4 years and compressor went out. Fortunately LG covered cost of parts and labor because of their warranty.

I have been so please with the qualities of this refrigerator. The double ice capacity of ths unit is so ideal for big parties and it comes very handy for any special occasion.
