I bought this model to replace the original version which I also own. The original version started popping in the right surround speaker when the system was taxed by louder sounds like explosions etc. I replaced it with the newer version, which no longer has the popping issue, but I get a significant hiss in the surround speakers even at moderate unit volume. I would say this is a little better than the popping issue, but it is still distracting to hear the hissing during quieter scenes. What I tend to do is turn the volume down on the unit when watching most TV, and then turn it up for movies with lots of sound design.

I was told about this product by a friend. I have never found an easier way to setup satellite speakers in my apartment. Rocketfish allows me to have speakers on the other side of the room, behind my sofa, for true surround sound without running tons of speaker wires all the way around my place. Hook-up was simple and took about 3 minutes.
Sound is clear and has no distortion.
