I use the waterpik once a day after brushing, but not sure it really does anything. My mouth fills up with water so quickly that I can't spend sufficient time on any area of the teeth. I assume that 1 filling of water is sufficient, but not certain.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

We're sorry to hear you're having difficulty using the product. For assistance in using the product, please review this helpful video: https://youtu.be/l54ipm-a_W8 Please note flossing time may vary based on the pressure setting and how much time is being spent on each tooth, a refill may be necessary.
I bought my current waterflosser in November 2016 to replace my 2 year-old model on which the water reservoir was leaking. While I was disappointed in the short life of my previous flosser, my dentist and I are very happy with the tooth and gum cleaning results--noticeably less plaque and healthier gums. In addition, this flosser is easy to use, portable and doesn't take up much space. The customer service support has also been excellent.
