This is a superb zombie movie. Romero is great at making these things. The special effects are still great even today and everything wasn't Computerized back then!!!

This is the third in Romero's Living Dead "trilogy" (which has since added "Land of the Dead"; "Diary of the Dead" somewhat breaks away from the previous storyline), and probably the most underrated. Not as immediately accessible as "Night" or "Dawn", many of the characters are reprehensible or just bat-guano crazy. However, it must be acknowledged that this is realistic...do you really think the military-industrial complex won't be one of the last institutions standing? It is dark and grim, and has a slow beginning, but has an awesome climax (you WILL cheer for "Bub" the zombie) and includes the best (read goriest) make-up and effects work in the entire series (the later additions tend to rely on CGI...blech). "Day" also serves as the bridge between "Dawn" and "Land" with a zombie that obviously has a glimmer of humanity left (a soul or a ghost in the machine?). Highly recommended, this is a zombie flick with, er, brains....

This is the third movie in George Romero's zombie trilogy. At this point zombies have taken over the world and the few remaining humans are huddled together trying to fight off the hordes of the undead. This movie is by far the bleakest and most grim of the three, but it does offer a slim ray of hope for the future. And the best part of the movie is that I was one of the actors in it! Look for me, I'm the clown zombie.

Romero just sets such a high benchmark when it comes too zombies that todays zombie movies pale in comparison. You will love this movie, gore effects are great, and so is the storyline. Enjoy

On the bonus disc George Romero says something like this film is for the real hard core dead fans. This is not the best film in his dead series. The film follows a group of surviors in a military base. They keep zombies to do experiments on and one named Bud seems to learn. The idea of the Zombies learning is better expressed in Land of the Dead. Check it out if you have seen the others and buy if you are a hardcore fan. I own it but look at my Nick Name: MikeoftheDead

George Romero's second "Living Dead" followup is a much a reflection on the 1980's as its predecessors were about the '60's & '70's, respectively. This time, another group of people, a combination of scientists & military types (including a gung-ho soldier) hole themselves up in an underground bunker. One scientist, affectionately called 'Frankenstein' by his comrades, even tries to communicates with zombies they have captured. This entry doesn't keep your interest like the first nor does have the funny subtext of the second, but it's still worth a look thanks to Tom Savini, who, once again, takes delight in the makeup FX.

This was definitely a perfect sequel to George Romero's Dawn of the Dead. I loved this movie when I was a kid and I still love it today as an adult. I watch this movie atleast 3 times a year.
