Just Junk

I bought this in 2017. The compressor died in 2022. The ice maker died in 2023. The water stopped working in 2024. Today it started to buzz and has a weird chemical/metallic smell on all the food in the refrigerator and freezer. I paid 25% more for this model so it would fit in a smaller space. It has been the worst refrigerator I have ever own. Honestly you should be ashamed of how poor a product this.

Perfect for narrower refrigerator space
on July 12, 2015

I previously owned a 35 3/4" wide refrigerator -- but found out during my remodel that more width is now required for the same width refrigerator. (I have a solid wall to the right of my refrigerator space which extends longer than refrigerator depth). I reluctantly switched from a 35 3/4" GE Profile side by side to this LG 33 1/2" French Door model. The adjustment is easier than I thought. The dimensions actually look better in my kitchen. It's taking some time getting used to the bottom freezer - because I'm not used to stacking items, I'm used to having them distributed on shelves so I can see everything. I have 'areas' for different kinds of food -- frozen veggies, breakfast items, meat, ice cream to try prevent everything getting thrown in -- and therefore harder to find. I use the bin meant for ice for storage -- the dispenser in the refrigerator door is enough for us. If I have a party, I'll just buy a couple of bags of ice. Fruit and vegetable drawers keep those items fresh and I do like the drawer that runs the width of the refrigerator (I use it for deli). One downside is that the bins on the right door, as delivered, don't really hold a wine bottle's height. I had to move one of the gallon bottle bins to the lowest possible setting to hold a gallon milk bottle height. For the wine, I slid the split shelf back. This means the small shelf below gallon bottle shelf is almost inaccessible -- but I found a couple of items I could fit in there and still reach. The bins on the left door (where the ice bin is) are shallower than the ones on the right. Salad dressing, barbecue sauce and similar items fit there I don't buy beverages in cans, which is the stated purpose of the bottom left shelf, but I found other items it works well for. Sometimes I have to resettle the bins on the right door due to 'rattling' noises, although I thought I had them settled in before. Interior lighting is very good. One other comment -- I've owned the frig since late May and the hinge on the right door is starting to squeak. I guess that means a phone call for warranty repair. Shelves and drawers on other manufacturer's products felt flimsy but not on this LG. And I like the hinged handle on the bottom freezer for opening. Stainless steel is staying fingerprint proof (I use Cerama Bryte Stainless Steel cleaner and a soft cloth).

I love the French Doors and the two freezers

I have had my new LG french door refridgerator for less than two months and I am already wondering.... How did I survive without it?
The easy access is priceless, as well as my ability to see everything inside!
Having two freezer drawers is excellent as well. I no longer have to move items around to get to the one I want.
Thank you, LG..... I am a satisfied customer..and will definitely purchase other LG products.

DO YOU EVEN HAVE A WARRANTY
on December 21, 2017

We purchased this French door refrigerator in September 2017, and the icemake did not work as soon as we received. We immediately put a warranty request in and as of December 21, it is still not fixed. The refrigerator repair company they send out came here just before Thanksgiving , said he needed to order a part, and has not been back since, even after several phone calls!! I like the product, but a product is only as good as the company standing behind it.... and LG DOES NOT..... what does that say for the product in the end..... THUMBS DOWN!!!!
Pros: Style/Design
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Ice Maker breaks in 6 months

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My ice maker broke and it was nice it was under warranty but the tech who fixed said all his calls on this refrigerator are for the same issue. So now my concern is that it will keep breaking and I will have to start paying to fix.
Pros: Style/Design
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Great Fridge for a Small Family
on April 7, 2015

I had been looking for this fridge for awhile. It has all the features I wanted: water/ice on the door, space-saving ice maker, french door model, and stainless steel. Most of the shelves are modular which helps get things in the right spot. The only issue is the amount of door space. The gallon bins will only fit one gallon item and just barely. For my use, I've put condiments on the doors and large gallon items on the shelves. With the amount in my fridge, that works fine.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this 3 weeks ago and had it delivered 2 weeks ago. It is dying! Ice cubes have melted in the dispenser, frozen foods have thawed and are now thrown out and loosing the food in the refrigerator section as I'm typing this. Waiting for a replacement to arrive in 4 days. Hoping it does much better. Very disappointed and having to live out of an ice chest for now. Not happy.
