Great for College Marching Band
on March 13, 2020

I purchased this camera since lenses over 6" weren't allowed into college football games. I used it all 4 years that my daughter marched. I could zoom in on her from way up in the stand and zoom out to catch the formations on the field.
I continue to use it on trips now that she's finished with college.
I would recommend this to a friend!

This camera is great for most situations. Those that gave poor reviews didn't read the manual.it has image stabilization for point shots. its always ready when you need it.

Love this camera!

I had an SX40 for almost 3 years and wanted to upgrade. The SX60 has a better EVF, it's much easier to focus at full zoom and takes amazing pictures! I shoot in both jpg and RAW and both are turning out fantastic shots. It was a bit more than my SX40, but I will get a lot of use out of it! I'm already getting many complements on my pictures.

Best Purchase Ever

I certainly consider myself to be amateur but I have owned numerous cameras in my lifetime. Also owned a cannon power shot prior to the purchase of this camera. I could not be more satisfied with the simplicity and great pictures produced by this camera. The 65 x zoom is simply awesome! For the person who does not know a lot about camera or photography generally and wants to have a camera that is very easy to learn and shoots extremely easy with professional results, this is the camera for you. I simply love it. I introduced this camera to a friend and he bought one and feels the same way!

What a great camera

Unboxed this beauty and was amazed. I've been using a PowerShot 950HS for a few years and was very happy. Then I went on a vacation and really wished I had a higher zoom range.
I took the SX60HS out for a trial and couldn't be more pleased. The picture quality is superb and clear enough that I can print 13 X 19" photos on my Pixma 9500 mkII.
I have to use it enough to get the most out of it, but as an amateur, I did run into difficulty holding it still enough with the lens fully extended. I guess it needs a tripod at this length.
Even in the darkness of a dining room at a party, the picture was clear and detailed. As I said, I don't know that much about photography so I leave it in the Auto mode and that works for me.
If you are new to taking photos, I have to say this is easy and the results are astonishing. For a point and shoot type camera, you should check it out

Good camera, good price. Good focal distance, but slow automatic focus for birds photos and nature, for instance.

Diamond in the rough

This is a versatile point & shoot that can produce DSLR quality images. This camera works fantastic in program "P" mode for most shots. Birds, I usually shoot Tv mode, continuous af and center metering. ISO works well up to 800 but after that you get watercolor effect if you pixel peep, it prints fine up to 1600 ISO and a 5x7 print. Digital zoom works great on a tripod with wireless remote. I have taken some impressive portraits in both P and M modes. Color profiles are excellent if you want to get creative. B & W profile is surprisingly good. Macro focus works well. JPEG quality is impessive, especially in the default evaluative metering. RAW is nice feature if you like the exposure latitude in post. Flash works excellent and can be dialed in, very flexible. This camera works great out of the box in auto mode but if you read the manual and learn the rich features, it's an amazing value. I have no problem leaving my DSLR home.
I would recommend this to a friend!
