Awesome Camera

Purchased this just before a trip to Alaska so I didn't get much time to get used to it's operating system. That said most of our pictures where taken in the Auto mode. I got some awesome shots of eagles and whales and not 1 shot was out of focus.
Last night I was able to capture pics of the eclipse of the moon that came out great.

Fabulous range of settings and zoom

This is the best camera I have ever owned. It's perfect for an amateur though more than a novice would need. We have a fabulous collection of photos from around the world thanks to the SX60.
I would recommend this to a friend!

I own 3 cameras and take 50 pictures a day as a safety engineer in NYC ,the SX60HS is the only one I use for work and play

Swivel viewfinder great feature

In addition to being a great camera with a tremendous zoom capability, the swivel view finder is a great feature. I travel a lot with tour groups. There are times when it's difficult to see tour sites because of the crowd. I can lift the camera over my head, above the crowd and with the swivel viewfinder, see the subject and get my photos. The eye level viewfinder is also a help when there is a lot of motion, such as in a boat. This viewfinder allows a steady camera.

Compact and ease of use

I find the camera has a lot of the features that I like and it is easy to use. Pictures are clear and have great color. The price point was acceptable to other cameras.

Extremely Satisfied -- Love This Camera

My old point and shoot camers took an OK picture but left much to be desired on picture quality. I wanted something that would give me great quality still pictures as well as great quality video. I also wanted to be able to get a good quality still picture clipped from a video. I purchased the Canon SX60 and used it first to video the birth of my granddaughter. What absolutely AMAZING quality video!!! I have also used it in "action mode" to take still shots of children an animals and was very pleased with the outcome -- especially, while on a whale watch recently, getting a bunch of WONDERFUL still shots of dolphins in mid-air. I love the constant shoot capabilities while in the 'action mode' I also got some absolutely great still shots clipped from video. I'm not an experienced photographer and am still playing with all of the features available. This is my first experience with Canon and so far the Canon SX60 has done everything I was hoping for. I Love It ! !
