GREAT ZOOM

Great travel camera with a Long Zoom. I choose it because of the compact size with long telephoto lens. Simple controls make it easy to set up on the move.
I carry it in a Canon Case, top flips up for easy access to camera, case has long strap for around the neck/shoulder carry for front or side use.

PowerShot SX700HS

My new Canon camera was purchased to use on a 2-week photo safari in Tanzania. It gave me nearly 3,000 excellent photos with a minimum of adjusting exposures. The only issue was that the included manual did not give explanation of all the symbols/letters on the exposure guide.

I purchased this camera in March and used it on vacation in October.
It's super easy to use the automatic settings and my photos are fabulous!
The zoom is amazing. I'm so happy with this purchase; I just purchased another one for a family member. Would definitely recommend for someone who wants something better than phone-photos, or a standard point-and-shoot.

Excellent Camera

I had the Powershot SX40 HS and I loved that camera. I had to sell it to help cover an eye surgery but I already had the SX60 HS, too. I love both cameras but the SX60 will be just fine. I took a photo of a farm house that is about 5 miles away from my deck with the lens extended and WOW. The farm house looks like it was across the street. I have many Canon products and this camera is great. I think I could sell some of my work but that will come later. This camera has SO many features and I also added the remote trigger and I have an iPad mini connected Wi-Fi. I can see what I'm shooting long range on the iPad AND I can control the camera with the iPad. HOW COOL IS THAT? This camera is a must have...

Great camera especially for nature photographers who like to go closer to the distant target. The quality of the pictures is reasonable taken at the zoom end. However, the IS here gives up its strength. It is almost impossible to capture the targets at the zoom end by hand held camera especially in low-light situation. It needs a tripod.

Went to Pismo Beach with this this camera. Two pics while watching the sun set from the pier.

Wish I had of kept my old Canon

Prior to this camera I had a Canon powershot S5 IS for about 7 years and really liked it but I was looking for a newer model. So I thought this SX60 HS would be the ticket. I was wrong. I was looking forward to shooting 5 action shots in rapid fire. It does but maybe one or two are clear. The zoom does a pretty good job but sometimes spends too much time on finding the proper focus. I have tied shooting video with a Sandisk Ultra 40mb/s card and the playback is choppy and not worth saving. Too bad to as it was of my youngest son playing percussion in all district band. The old S5 IS didn't have any video issues. It was very reliable. I have been playing around with different settings since I got it for Christmas and am done with it. Anybody want to buy a barely used SX60 HS?
All the functionality is worthless if it does not work as well as a previous model. In the case of the SX60 HS all you have is an expensive point and shoot camera.

Having expanded my abilities in step with the PowerShot SX series this latest version continues to impress and teach with ease of use. The durable trustworthy SX60 is well designed, loaded with settings and features,it`s high rating given is deserved due to how well it fits what I use it for as well as it`s incredible performance. The optical lens combined with the technology supporting it will not disappoint when all is considered. A stealthy operator where others best not venture, it has surpassed its predecessors for a spectrum of uses, locations, and conditions. Purposely selected and embraced for exactly what it is, my PowerShot SX60 is always at the ready for Urban Exploration, Fast Action, Nite Shots, Concerts, The Unexpected Moment, and exposure to very unusual subjects.
Truly a worry free workhorse that feels appropriate to venture into high risk of loss areas with. Its a 5 star to me as it does all that and more. Get one...Canon is a great resource and service support base for the evolving user.
