We have had a heavy duty Farberware mixer for over 35 yrs. It still works fine but our kids said it was ugly and gave us the red KitchenAid for Christmas. It's heavy duty, new and not ugly. We're enjoying it. If it lasts 35 yrs it will outlive us.

This thing is an absolute beast. Power to spare and no cupcake left behind. My wife often bakes goods for the kids' school activities, and with this mixer, she cut her prep time in half. There is no reason to believe that I won't be 400 pounds by this Christmas.

KitchenAid is a great product but i feel this mixer had a hiccup, the speed lever is so hard to move from speed to speed or gets stuck, hopefully it changes as i use it more often.

I've been looking for one of these mixers for a while now and finally made the decision to get one. I didn't need the 6 quart professional series but wanted something with a little more power than the lower end 4.5 quart mixer. This one turned out a great compromise. It makes baking so much easier, and making it easier means I'll do it more often.
