A Kitchen Aid mixer has been on my 'wanted' list for a long time. I decided to get this one because of the great reviews, and I am not disappointed. You really can't go wrong with a KitchenAid mixer. Compared to a regular handheld mixer it's much stronger and will last longer. My wife absolutely swears by them, and she loves it. I'd also recommend just buying this model over one of the lower ones to get the slightly more powerful motor and bigger bowl.
