Product is bumb, not too big on it. I have a 46" Samsung LCD LN46B53P7FX and have to change the picture size and the color with every movie. Don't buy this DVD, it's picture to upgrade is not good, but it has 1 HDMI. I have cable and the connections were made great because I used to work For Best Buy, and I know how to do this. I have a 42" in the bedroom that works better with a 42", and it's amazing. The DVD player that I bought said "FACTORY NEW with Warranty" and I can't do that, bought it on eBaby. Don't be fooled! I don't like the pic from the TV to DVD quality, it's just a waste of money. Then again, I got it on ebay, so, I'm sorry if I sound bias. Players and TV's should come set. I guess I got a bad DVD! I would NOT recommend this player/recorder, being that my next door neighbor has one too, and it doesn't work on hers.
What's great about it: Dvd Play is good sometimes
What's not so great: Watchin' movies, volume is soooooooo low!

this is the worst piece of garbage I have ever seen, I bought it to record off cable, and there is no way to plug cable to it, you have to purchase a seperate tunner which you cannot get from best buy, and if you do not have a high def tv you can not plug it into the tv either. avoid this piece of garbage like the plauge
What's great about it: none
What's not so great: does not have a digital tunner

I've had this recorder for 1 week, was easy to set up. We have cable and I've recorded from several Pay Channels with no problems. Owners Manual says you can watch a movie you already have on disk while recording another show to the same disk. I have my vcr connected to the front input and cable to the rear input.

Beautifull recorder ,no errors ,good quality, easy to use, i did record 3 hours movie on 1 dvd ,isn't that incredible! and the quality is perfect ,it can record up to 8 hours but you have to play it back on this recorder only.for a regular dvd's you have to record up to 2 hours max. so you can play it back on all other DVD recorders or players.....for me this is the best! I was a little skeptical about buying another DVD recorder. My first one was Sony Combo DVD-VCR player recorder. The picture quality was horrible, I returned the player and decided to go back to the old reliable VCR. After reading the customer reviews on this product, I decided to give it another try. I was astounded at the quality of the recording, and the ease of setting up the recorder. It calls for a tuner but if you have a digital cable box you can hook up directly from the VCR archive output on the cable box to the DVD player using the DVR recordings. I used monster cables for the hook up which only took about 20 minutes. The only problem I’m now having is that I am unable to hook up and record live shows. I’m sure there’s a way…I just haven’t figured it out yet.

OK, I usually don't like to review an item until I've owned it for a while, but I am so happy with this DVD recorder I just had to do it now. I love it! It was so easy to set up. The picture is awesome. It is so easy to record onto a DVD and the recorded DVD's are beautiful. It also reads other DVD's recorded on older machines. And when you compare the quality of other recorded DVD's there is just no comparision. I've spent the last year with this TERRIBLE Sharp DVD recorder/VCR unit. It would only record on 1 in 10 discs and the quality was not so good. I can not count the many wasted hours I've spent trying to get my Sharp recorder to record. So having this Toshiba is great. I have made multiple DVD's in the last few days and they all look great. I don't even have it set up through the HDMI yet and I love it. I am using Conponent Video cables until my HDMI cable comes in. The picture is so nice now I can't wait to see what happens with the HDMI cable.
What's great about it: Picture Quality, Ease of Use, Excellent DVD recording

I bought this DVD recorder because my old 8mm tapes have been collecting dust and I didn't want to lose them to deterioration. I was skeptical at the $119 price but I decided to give it a try. The ease of use and video quality are what will keep me a Toshiba fan for life. The disks burn and finalize very quickly and although I have not tried to record live TV yet, I'm am not worrying about it. If you are looking to make some nice menus and chapters, I would recommend that you first burn using this unit and then edit in your computer. Bottom line, GREAT PRODUCT and GREAT PRICE.

Set up was fairly easy and works well with Memorex DVD-R , and Maxell DVD-R media I had on hand. I bought this Toshiba after my Panasonic DMR-15 stopped reading discs after 2 years of being very happy with it. After reading bad reviews on other brands, I decided the Toshiba had the most to offer. Once you get past the vague instructions it actually works very well so far. First, it DOES NOT record "Dual Layer" DVD's as others have noted in their reviews, but I didn't mind that. It plays back everything recorded on other brands flawlessly. . I connected it to my Dish Network box and it works fine. . I don't need a built in tuner anyway. Up conversion on HDMI is only slightly better than with component on my 50" 1080i plasma. Overall, I'm pleased with it for the price. I also took the 2 year service on it. Sound quality through my home theater is excellent! I have only had it a few days and will update again soon when I have more to tell you.
What's great about it: good Video quality, compatable playback on other players and PC's.
What's not so great: Upconversion @1080i was not as stellar as I had hoped with HDMI cable on my 50"plasma.
